DIVERSITY & INCLUSION NASPOG Diversity Statement NASPOG embraces and derives value from the variety of views and opinions that diverse individuals bring to our professional society. In recognizing the importance of diversity, we must also acknowledge the systemic racism, injustice, and differences in power and privilege that exist in our nation, our systems of care, and in our own organization. As such, we continuously strive to create an environment of inclusion and respect through critical self-examination, and by paying attention to both overt and covert forms of prejudice and exclusion. NASPOG
actively seeks out members from the range of differences in
race/ethnicity, culture, gender identity and expression, sexual
orientation, disability, religion, socioeconomic status, national origin
and aging, among others. NASPOG makes concerted efforts to reach out to
and engage with individuals representing these characteristics for
service on the NASPOG Board, committees, task forces, and activities,
knowing that our work to promote the health and well-being of women is
greatly enhanced by the consideration of multiple perspectives. |
